William Aiton, son of William Aiton, Sr. and Margaret Browning, was born Sept. 1, 1831 in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, Scotland and died April 29, 1924 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Catherine Hook Mar. 15, 1854 in New York City.
