Verner Joseph Dahlin was born July 28, 1892 to Andrew Joseph and Mary Christine Peterson Dahlin in Burlington, Iowa. He married Madge Bryan Hull February 16, 1918 in Burlington. He died in France September 24, 1918. Verner was the first married man from Burlington killed in World War I. PVT. 357 INF. 90 DIV. First buried in France then moved to section 305 in Aspen Grove June 25, 1921.
