John Quincy Adams Whitten,son of Nathan and Elizabeth Whitten, was born April 16, 1828 on Warrius Ridge near Smithfield, Jefferson Co., Ohio and died Feb. 27, 1921 in Mound City, Holt Co., Missouri. His obituary gives his birth date as April 10, 1828. He married Catharine Ann Frye Feb. 22, 1854 in Tuscarawas Co., Ohio (Ohio, Marriages gives the date as Feb. 16th). She was born Oct. 8, 1832 in Ohio and died Mar. 23, 1902 in Blockton, Taylor Co., Iowa. Iowa, Deaths and Burials, 1850-1990 gives the death date as Oct. 23, 1902.
