George Washington Young, son of George Young and Matilda Reddick, was born June 2, 1844 in Miami Co., Ohio and died July 30, 1914 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. 1900 Federal census gives the birth date as July 1844. He married Temperance Deriah Merchant Feb. 17, 1870. She was born June 26, 1851 near Washington County Courthouse, Washington Co., Ohio, daughter of Isaac Merchant and Nancy Caylor, and died July 5, 1925 in Lincoln, Lancaster Co., Nebraska.
