John Thomas Weir, son of John Joseph Weir and Susan Ellen Smith, was born Feb. 27, 1860 near Martinsville, Clark Co., Illinois and died Feb. 20, 1919 in Jackson Township, southeast of Bedford, Taylor County, Iowa. He married Sarah Elizabeth Meloy Feb. 27, 1882 in Clark Co., Illinois. She was born Sept. 9, 1865, near Martinsville, Clark Co., Illinois, the daughter of Allen Meloy and Mary Elizabeth Phillips. She died Oct. 30, 1942 in Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa.
