J. Calvin Walker was born in 1843 in Indiana and died Jan. 5, 1877 near Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Rebecca Johnson Dec. 21, 1864 in Marion Co., Iowa.He enlisted in Co. F, 14th Iowa Infantry Regiment Nov. 1, 1861 and was mustered out Nov. 16, 1864 at Davenport, Scott Co., Iowa. Source: Roster & Record of Iowa Soldiers in the War of Rebellion.
