Abram Borce Van Sickle, son of Wynkoop Van Sickle and Martha Tweedy, was born Nov. 19, 1828 in Fayette Co., Indiana and died Feb. 22, 1910 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married 1) Amanda Huffman Nov. 28,1853 in Edgar Co., Illinois and 2) Catharine "Kate" Butler July 5, 1873 in Edgar Co., Illinois. He enlisted in Co. G, 4th Missouri State Militia Cavalry in 1862. He was promoted from Lieutenant to Captain of his Company in the same year.
