Charles Thomas, son of Lot W.Thomas and Martha C. Allen, was born July 22, 1869 in Casey Co., Illinois (his obituary gives the date as 1870) and died Dec. 21, 1938 in Iowa City, Johnson Co., Iowa. He married Minnie VanScoy Oct. 8, 1899 at Ravenwood, Nodaway Co., Missouri. She was born May 12, 1881 near Grant City, Worth Co., Missouri, daughter of Caleb VanScoy and Amanda Canfield, and died July 27, 1946 at Wichita, Sedgwick Co., Kansas.
