Peter Switzer, son of William Switzer and Elizabeth C. Brown, was born July 27, 1844 in Vermillion Co., Indiana and died June 29, 1924 in Denver, Colo. He married Mary Ellen Smith Dec. 3, 1868 in Knox Co., Illinois. She was born Oct. 31, 1852 in Clinton Co., Ohio and died Feb. 12, 1912 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa (Her obituary gives the birth date as 1853). Their son, John R. Switzer, was born Sept. 14, 1877 in Knox Co., Illinois and died Oct. 28, 1913 in Valley Falls, Jefferson Co., Kansas. He married Bertha E. Baker Oct. 5, 1910 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
