Walter E. Briggs, son of Andrew J. Briggs and Anna Ransford, was born June 29, 1860 in Henry Co., Illinois and died Dec. 31, 1898 in Colfax, Jasper Co., Iowa. He married Clara Eleanora Bellus Aug. 6, 1882 at Blockton, Taylor Co., Iowa.
