James Welch Guthrie was born July 30, 1827 in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania and died Sept. 27, 1911 in Orange City,Sioux Co., Iowa. He married Adda Sarah Bentley June 6, 1871 at Chicago, Cook Co., Illinois. (Her obituary gives the marriage date as June 7, 1871.) She was born June 9, 1838 in Brecksville, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio and died Nov. 12, 1909 in Clearfield, Taylor Co., Iowa.
