Heitena was the daughter of Garrelt Weimers and Henrika Weimers. She married Henry DeWall on 8 September 1890 in Belliville, Pocahontas, Iowa. They were the parents of Henry, Henrika, Charles, George, Frederick, Hie, Gertrude, and Waubka.
