James Harvey Fordyce, son of James Harvey Fordyce, Sr. and Nancy Bowers, was born Nov. 17, 1843 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania and died Mar. 7, 1912 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Sarah Jane Murdock Nov. 24, 1864 in Greene Co., Pennsylvania. He enlisted in Co. F, 1st Reserve Pennsylvania Calvary and was discharged after serving 1 year because of disability.
