Eliza Steel, daughter of John Steel, was born April 18, 1841 in Canaan, Columbia Co., New York and died Sept. 11, 1885 near Sharpsburg, Taylor Co., Iowa. She married Wells Watts Norton July 5, 1858 in Warren Co., Illinois.
