Elias William Jones, son of Elias W. M. Jones and Mary Elizabeth Shaw, was born Dec. 28, 1826 in Hardy Co., Virginia (now West Virginia) and died Dec. 21, 1907 near Sharpsburg, Taylor Co. He married Ruth Cresap Singleton Jan. 19, 1857 in Johnson Co., Iowa.
