Olive was the daughter of Peter Hunter and Isabelle Belmaine. Olive immigrated in 1883. She married Ira Sandy on 11 September 1895 in Des Moines, Polk, Iowa. They were the parents of Harold Gardner, Forest Merrill, and Lawrence Huntr Sandy.
