Melvin was the son of William Rabb and Margaret Hawley. He married Clara Kuebler on Jan 13, 1898 in Glidden, Iowa. They were the parents of Clarence, Edna, Mabel, Gladys, Pearl, Harold, Florence, Orville, Hazel, and Ella Mae.
