Bessie Verlee Sweigard, daughter of Walter Albia Sweigard and Amanda Jane Nation, was born Oct. 13, 1893 in Sharpsburg, Taylor Co., Iowa and died Jan. 31, 1975 in Lenox, Taylor Co., Iowa. She married Clifford Francis Underwood June 14, 1916. He was born April 22, 1895 at Conway, Taylor Co., Iowa, son of Charles Lee Underwood and Mary Elizabeth Filbert, and died Dec. 9, 1963 north of Sharpsburg, Taylor Co., Iowa.
