Richard E. Toy, son of John Toy and Ann Cottle, was born in 1836 in England and died Aug. 11, 1879 in Grant Twp., Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Charlotte Hitchens Dec. 28, 1864 at Quincy, Adams Co., Illinois.
