Robert Swindel, son of Matthew and Jane Swindel, was born in July 1845 in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland and died Nov. 30, 1929 in Lenox, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Jane McClintock Feb. 21, 1877 in Cook Co., Illinois [Source: Illinois Statewide Marriage Index]. His obituary gives the marriage date as Jan. 30, 1876. Jane McClintock was born in 1851 in County Fermanagh, Ireland, daughter of John McClintock and Grace or Grisella Allan, and died in 1882 in Marshall Twp., Taylor Co., Iowa.
