Alexander Pitman, son of George Pitman and Eliza Jane Osborn, was born Nov. 13, 1850 at Keithburg, Mercer Co., Illinois and died Feb. 24, 1937 near Conway, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Sophia Jane Curry Nov. 19, 1872 in Knox Co., Illinois (Source: Obituary,Bedford Times-Press, Mar. 4, 1937). Iowa Marriages gives the date as Oct. 16, 1870.
