James H. Mathews, son of James Mathews and Mary Walling, was born Mar. 23, 1834 in Delaware Co., Ohio and died July 8, 1902 in Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Hannah D. Baxter in 1858. She was born April 14, 1838 in England and died Mar. 31, 1905 in Taylor Co., Iowa.
