Daniel Custer Matheny, son of John Collins Matheny and Mary Jane Maddox, was born Feb. 2, 1876 at Pontiac, Livingston Co., Illinois and died Sept. 3, 1946 in Conway, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Mary Rosetta Smith April 9, 1903 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. She was born Sept. 7, 1885 at Martinsville, Harrison Co., Missouri, daughter of Oscar Eldridge Smith and Minnie Williams, and died Sept. 12, 1959 at Conway, Taylor Co., Iowa. After the death of her first husband she married John G. Parisho Feb. 20, 1954.
