Paul Custer, son of Christian Custer and Catharine Beckelshymer, was born Sept. 14, 1822 in Clermont Co., Ohio and died May 26, 1898 near Conway, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Emeline Dalbey Johnson Nov. 4, 1856 in Clermont Co., Ohio. She was born Sept. 15, 1837 in Frederick Co., Virginia, daughter of John McGinnis Johnson and Elizabeth Dalbey, and died May 14, 1909 in Conway, Taylor Co., Iowa. Their son George Elliot Custer was born April 22, 1877 in Wapello Co., Iowa and died Oct. 16, 1886 in Taylor Co., Iowa.
