Inscription: Martha E. Dau. of J. & M. or F. A. Grider or Kryder Died Aug. 16, 1877 Aged 1 y 7 m 9 d
Stone is extremely weathered and part of the inscription has disappeared. Missing part of inscription is supplied by the death notice (Iowa South-west, Aug. 18, 1877) where the father's name is given as John Kryder. It could be spelled Grider or Crider or Krider. The 1880 federal census for Taylor Co., Iowa lists a John Kryder. Based on these 2 sources, which are not definitive as many misspellings occur in both, I have listed the stone under Kryder to link it to the death notice.
