Elvira Brooks, daughter of James Brooks and Nancy Clark, was born Nov. 24, 1849 in Davis Co., Iowa and died Mar. 29, 1929 at Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska. She married 1) Vautilburg and 2) George W. Howe Oct. 18, 1888 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. Death notice available Taylor County, Iowa gen web site. Iowa Marriages gives marriage date as both Oct. 16 and Oct. 18, 1888.
