Mary was the daughter of William. H. Jenkins and Mary J. Hocking. She married Wilson Wood on 29 May 1887 in Fonda, Pocahontas, Iowa. They were the parents of 12 chidren: Archer, Alphonzo, Lorna, Bryan, Helena, Martin, Clarence, Geneva, Esther, Woodrow, and Margarite.
