Rachel Ellen Chapman was born in Harwell, England May 23, 1849,daughter of Robert Chapman and Elizabeth Masckal, and died July 23, 1908 in Ross Twp., south of Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. She married Robert Ernest Jefferies May 12, 1881 at Harwell, England. He was born at North Hendred, England Jan. 30, 1854, son of James Jefferies, and died Sept. 1, 1917 at St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri. Obituaries available Taylor County, Iowa gen web site.
