James Aurelius Lomax, son of John Lomax and Susan Jane Franklin, was born Dec. 18, 1858 in Abingdon, Knox Co., Illinois and died Nov. 21, 1951 in Hood River, Oregon.He married Mary Merilda Hawkins July 4, 1881 in Knox Co., Illinois. She was born May 10,1858 in Knox Co., Illinois, daughter of Enoch George Hawkins and Eliza Jane Hendricks, and died Aug. 2, 1922 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
