Kate or Katie E. Palmer was born in 1833 in Ontario, Canada, daughter of Edmund and Hannah Palmer, and died in January 1894 in Taylor Co., Iowa. She married Benjamin C. Golliday Aug. 13, 1857 in Lake Co., Illinois. She is buried in the Golliday family plot near her brother-in-law, Alfred Golliday, in the old Bedford City cemetery. Death records, Taylor County Courthouse, Bedford, Iowa, give her birthplace as Ohio. 1850 federal census gives her birth place as Canada and her given name as Catherine.
