George Washington Clayton, son of David and Mary Clayton, was born June 19, 1825 in Perry Co., Ohio and died Feb. 25, 1888 in Polk Twp., Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Fidelia Schoonover, Oct. 26, 1851 in Hardin Co., Ohio. She was born Aug. 11, 1831 in Cayuga Co., New York and died April 2, 1920 in Polk Twp., Taylor Co., Iowa.
