A broken stone cross lying on the ground with no visible inscription is all that remains of Valentine Kinney's memorial. He is buried near his parents, George B. Kinney and Martha Ann Round. He was born Dec. 17, 1880 at Platteville, Taylor Co., Iowa (his obituary gives his birth date as Sept. 17th) and died Oct. 17, 1924 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
