Jonathan Thomas Maxwell, son of William Maxwell and Letitia Manley, was born Jan. 1, 1854 in Monroe Co., Iowa and died Jan. 2, 1886 in Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Cynthia Elizabeth Nash Feb. 26, 1879. He shares the stone with his son, Archie.
