Dora Emma Otto Anderson, 88
Oct. 1, 1905 - Aug. 28, 1994

Odebolt - Dora Emma Anderson, the daughter of George and Louise (Dohrman) Otto, was born Oct. 1, 1905, in Persia. She attended country school east of Persia, completing eighth grade. When she was 12 years old, her mother died, and she took over the household chores for her father! and brothers and sisters. Later, she also did housework for other area families.

April 21, 1946, she married Harvey Anderson. She had lived at the Baptist Memorial Home since 1992. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan. She died Aug. 28, 1994, at the Baptist Memorial Home, at age 88 years, 10 months, and 27 days.

Preceding her in death were her parents; four brothers, Herman, Rudy, and two infant boys; and two sisters, Irna and LaVonne.

Survivors include her husband, Harvey of Harlan; five nieces; three nephews; great-nieces and great-nephews; and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Aug. 31,1994 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Harlan, with Rev. Jon Benson officiating. Casket bearers were Wayne L. Anderson, Donald Christensen, Jerald Knudsen, Norman Otto, Robert Otto, and Richard Laughlin. Burial was in the Harlan cemetery. Burmeister Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
