Edward Montgomery Humphrey, son of Hiram and Jane Humphrey, was born Jan. 7, 1846 in Erie Co., Ohio and died June 16, 1924 near Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Mary Elizabeth Barnes Dec. 30, 1865 in Iowa Co., Iowa. She was born July 31, 1848 near Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana, daughter of Isam Barnes and Deborah Lindamood, and died May 13, 1908 near Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa.
