Hiram Wilson Alkire, son of Samuel Alkire and Eliza Jane Adams, was born May 21, 1876 near New Market, Taylor Co., Iowa and died Mar. 16, 1960 in Mount Ayr, Ringgold Co., Iowa. He married Carrie Maggie Garrett Green Nov. 21, 1934 at Corning, Adams Co., Iowa. She was born Feb. 9, 1886 in Taylor Co., Iowa, daughter of Jacob Garrett and Mary Ann Coyan, and died Sept. 15, 1956 in Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa. She married Thomas Marsh Green, her 1st husband, April 13, 1904 at Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa.
