Elizabeth Jane Mitchell, daughter of Thomas Mitchell and Lucinda Bailey, was born June 2, 1842 in Indiana and died Mar. 4, 1910 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. She married Seymour Carpenter Aug. 24, 1862 in Buchanan Co., Iowa.
