Seymour Carpenter, son of David Carpenter and Prudence Albin, was born April 22, 1827 in New York State and died June 12, 1910 near Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He married Elizabeth Jane Mitchell Aug. 24, 1862 in Buchanan Co., Iowa.
