Abbie Mariam Gartrell, daughter of John Rawlings Gartrell and Sarah Macumber, was born June 12, 1872 in St. Joseph, Buchanan Co., Missouri and died Sept. 17, 1943 in Creston, Union Co., Iowa. She married 1) Lewis Whitten Nov. 9, 1890 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa; 2) James Daniel Alexander, Feb. 9, 1901 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa and 3) Joseph Hooker Reid Oct. 7, 1907 at Maryville, Nodaway Co., Missouri.
