Benjamin Franklin Richardson, son of Silas Webster Richardson and Catherine Storm, was born Nov. 16, 1839 in Muscatine Co., Iowa and died Mar. 23, 1938 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He enlisted in Co. F, 8th Iowa Infantry Sept. 21, 1861, was taken prisoner at the battle of Shiloh, exchanged and re-enlisted and was mustered out April 20, 1866 at Selma, Alabama. He married Delilah Reynolds Jan. 10, 1867 at Sigourney, Keokuk Co., Iowa. Source: Roster & Record of Iowa Soldiers in the War of Rebellion
