Alice A. Stewart, daughter of Mathew Stewart and Sarah Reed, was born in Jan. 1859 in Pike Co., Illinois and died May 12, 1942 in Sharpsburg, Taylor Co., Iowa. She married John Wesley Newman Sept. 21, 1879 in Taylor Co., Iowa. He was born July 9, 1856 in Meigs Co., Ohio, son of John Newman, Sr. and Ann Barton, and died Oct. 22, 1936 in Sharpsburg, Taylor Co., Iowa.
