George Washington Alvord, son of Albert Churchill Alvord and Catherine Maria Brown, was born Oct. 1882 in Taylor Co., Iowa and died Sept. 14, 1916 in Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa. He married Emma Catherine Wire Aug. 5, 1902 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. She was born Dec. 17, 1880 in Van Buren Co., Iowa, daughter of William Henry Wire and Caroline Josephine Finnekohl, and died Feb. 12, 1980 in Red Oak, Montgomery Co., Iowa. Her 2nd husband was Alfred Hansen whom she married Jan. 18, 1925.
