William Henry Adams, son of David Caldwell Adams and Nancy E. Lambert, was born May 6, 1840 in Parke Co., Indiana and died Jan. 23, 1918 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa. He enlisted as a Private in Co. A, 7th Iowa Cavalry Regiment Oct. 23, 1862, was promoted to Full 4th Corporal May 12, 1865 and mustered out Nov. 24, 1865 at Fort Kearney, Nebraska.
