Lewis Beaver Harkless, son of John Duncan Harkless and Kittie Maria Anderson, was born May 23, 1878 near Fairview, Fulton Co., Illinois and died Dec. 19, 1945 in Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa. He married Mary Chassie Hurt Valentine April 13, 1940 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
