Valentine Richard Stapleton, son of William Stapleton and Catherine Schmitt, was born Jan. 7, 1900 in Lenox, Taylor Co., Iowa and died Jan. 1, 1961 in Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa. He married Ada Margaret Creveling April 17, 1924 at Greenfield, Adair Co., Iowa.
