James Leslie Preston, son of Thomas Preston and Mary Halligan, was born Sept. 7, 1889 in Gravity, Taylor Co., Iowa and died May 21, 1944 in Clarinda, Page Co., Iowa. His World War I Draft Registration Card gives his birth date as Sept. 7, 1890.
