Born in Lovinac, Austria-Hungary.
He came to the United States in 1902, to Waterloo in 1907.
On Feb. 2, 1908 he married Mary Mataic. She died in 1915.
Two children were born to that union, Joseph & Mrs. F. L. Shader.
He married Mary Krpan Jan. 14, 1918 in Waterloo.
