Lillian Alice Townsend, daughter of James Townsend and Elizabeth Hicks, was born Oct. 20, 1866 in Taylor Co., Iowa and died Dec. 13, 1951 in Richmond, Contra Costa Co., California. California Death Records give her birth date as 1865. She married John Murl Hamilton Feb. 18, 1886 at Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa. He was born July 24, 1859 in Strathaven, South Lanarkshire, Scotland, son of James Burton Hamilton and Janet Bryson, and died Sept. 11, 1948 in Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa.
