Howard Arthur Straight, son of Howard Seymour Straight and Effa Lena Wheat, was born Oct. 24, 1911 in Jackson Twp., southeast of Bedford, Taylor Co., Iowa and died Oct. 27, 1984 in Maryville, Nodaway Co., Missouri. He married Ferne Reed Feb. 17, 1939 at Nashua, Chickasaw Co., Iowa. She was born Sept. 9, 1919 near Blockton, Taylor Co., Iowa, daughter of George Brown Reed and Ada Bosch, and died April 16, 1990 in Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa. She was a triplet.
