------------
Ora was born in Gregory County, South Dakota, the 7th of nine children of Oliver Perry Ellis and Hannah Ellender Burton. Her siblings: Ernest, Elijah, Iona, Sadie, Harry, Maud, Alvin and Iva.

It is not known how or why Ora came to Iowa. Her mother died in 1900 and her father died in 1907. A brief look at her siblings to find a family connection in Iowa did not create any answers.

Regardless, on 2 May 1906 Ora became the 2nd wife of Charles Stewart Morris, son of James W. Morris and America Jane Bercaw. His wife died in 1901 and Ora immediately became stepmother to his four children: Hazel, Stewart, Pearl and George. Stewart died in 1908.

Ora and Charley had their first child, Fay, in 1910, and over the next 12 years they had five more: Ora, Dottie, Cecil, Opal May and Jay Perry.

In 1930 the family is living in York township, Putnam County, Missouri, less than 30 miles south of where they'd been living in Iowa and Charley is working as a house painter.

Charley died in 1941. Ora outlived her husband by 23 years and there are no records to show that she remarried. She died 7 Dec 1964 and is buried next to her husband.
